Woodstock Riding Club
October 16, 2023
Present: Ralph VanKleeck, Susan Leiching, Marie Webster, Jane Booth, Jenny Lang, Annie
VanKleeck, Nin and Rolfe Brudemenn, John Webster, Beth Smith, Susan Leiching
Meeting was called to order by Ralph at 7:15 pm.
Minutes:
September meeting notes were reviewed by Susan
Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer report reviewed. Agree the balance of the school tax will be paid. Funds are very
tight because of cancellation of past 2 shows weather related.
Old Business:
1. Tree Situation:
The person involved with the removal of the trees was trespassing onto the property. He
was given 6 months’ probation and Ralph has an order of protection to prevent
harassment from this person.
Marie contacted the attorney:
Lawsuit will proceed.
Person involved will be served by the lawyer.
2. The Awards dinner will be on Saturday December 2nd from 6pm – 8pm at the Woodstock
Fire House. We are planning on a menu of hot dishes, salads, desserts and beverages.
Jenny will do a flyer. It will be sent to members, posted on facebook, and on the
website. It is important for members to realize this is a fundraiser and any contributions
will be welcomed.
3. Buy or sell your raffle tickets…the quilt is beautiful and again this is part of our
fundraising.
4. Cancelled shows:
Unfortunately the show grounds were subject to deluges of rain this year which because
of cancellations put us in a financial bind. So again we ask people contribute through
the dinner and raffle. It is too late to arrange any events at the grounds this year. For
2024, in addition to the regular shows, we have a fun day in mind. Information will be
out with the 2024 schedule.
New Business:
1. Longstanding members of the club would like to board a horse at the club grounds. A lot of discussion ensued about their proposal. The request will go to the board and further research is needed.
The next meeting will be Monday, November 20that 7:00pm. The meeting will be a Zoom meeting to wrap up the details of the dinner.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:48 pm
Respectfully submitted,
Susan Leiching
